Kiko's Life in Rio Collection

To celebrate that the 2014 FIFA World Cup is being held in Brazil, Kiko has jumped on the global marketing bandwagon by launching a Brazil-themed limited edition make up collection. The collection is surprisingly large with products includiing lipsticks, liquid eyeliners, nail lacquers, blushers and foundations. The Rio theme is expressed through the bright colours available, especially in terms of nail lacquers, eyeliners and lipsticks.

The packaging of the collection is colourful with swirling patterns of complimentary pinks, yellows, oranges, blues and greens with accents of gold.

After much deliberation, I opted for two of the Exotic Shine Lipsticks and a Tropical Waterproof Eyeliner which I had been drawn to because they are shades I love and think would suit my skin tone and personality. The packaging of the products themselves feels luxurious in it's shiny gold casings which feel more like metal than a plastic. The design is sleek but eye-catching and definitely adds to the lavish summery vibe.

(The presentation is a bit funky because I can't use my normal background so I had to use my blanket instead, which I didn't want to get dirty!)

Firstly, lets talk about the lipsticks in general. Both shades are super creamy and glide onto the lips so beautifully! They have a sheen to them and considering how shiny they are the pigmentation is impressive. You get a strong colour pay off which is a pleasant surprise for me because I'm not so much of a fan of sheer lipsticks. The bright shades may intimidate some people but personally I love a bright and strong colour on the lips. For people who wish to take the plunge with bright colours, a glossy formula is definitely a less daunting prospect than matte finishes so I would suggest something like this to try first (you can even sheer it out by applying a small amount and blending it with a finger or lip brush). The colour range is so beautiful with shades that suit most skintones so I would definitely suggest checking them out.

03- Bright coral orange

05- Raspberry pink (I'm slightly addicted to this shade already!)

02 Tropical Waterproof Eyeliner- A glittery tropical/jewel green colour

This eyeliner is very long-lasting from what I can tell from the swatch on the back of my hand (which is not budging!) but this may be different on your eyes depending on how oily your eyelids get. The pigmentation is lovely and strong and the eyeliner has tiny silver sparkles running throughout which will shimmer in the sunlight to make this an even more eye-catching statement on the eyes.

From top to bottom: 03, 05 and 02 (eyeliner)

Let me know if you have bought anything from the collection or if you've got your eye on anything in particular! Thanks for reading x
